The Custom 14 is the Cuisinart food processor most kitchens end up owning. A 720-watt induction motor turns a 14-cup work bowl, which is enough capacity to shred a block of cheese, chop a batch of soffritto or knead bread dough without stopping to empty it halfway.

The extra-large feed tube takes whole potatoes and small onions, so less knife work happens before the machine does the rest. Controls stay deliberately plain: on, off and pulse.

Everything except the motor base goes in the dishwasher, and the motor carries a five-year warranty.

Questions & answers

Can it knead bread dough?

Yes, for most standard loaves. The 720-watt motor and the metal chopping blade handle roughly three to four cups of flour at a time; heavier, very stiff doughs are better suited to a stand mixer.

Will it fit under my upper cabinets?

It stands about 14.8 inches tall assembled, which clears the usual 18-inch gap between counter and cabinet. Removing the pusher first makes it easier to slide out.

Does it handle small quantities well?

A 14-cup bowl is generous for one or two tablespoons of herbs. For very small jobs, pulse in short bursts and scrape the sides, or use a mini chopper instead.

Are the parts dishwasher safe?

The bowl, cover, pushers, blade and discs are all dishwasher safe. Wipe the motor base by hand and never submerge it.

Does a dicing or french-fry disc come with it?

No. The box includes the chopping blade, one slicing disc and one shredding disc. Cuisinart sells additional discs for the Custom 14 separately.
