The S2425HS is a 23.8-inch Full HD monitor built around an IPS panel, so color holds steady when you look at it from off to one side. It covers 99% of sRGB and runs at 100Hz, which makes scrolling and window dragging visibly smoother than a standard 60Hz office display.

The stand does the part most budget monitors skip: 130 mm of height travel, tilt, swivel and a full 90-degree pivot into portrait. Two 5W speakers handle calls and video, and ComfortView Plus lowers blue light without draining the color out of the picture.

Questions & answers

Does a cable come with it?

Yes. Dell ships a power cable and an HDMI cable, so a desktop or laptop with HDMI works straight out of the box. There is no DisplayPort input on this model.

Can I use it in portrait orientation?

Yes. The panel pivots 90 degrees on the stand, and Dell Display Manager can rotate the image to match. Portrait suits long documents, code and social feeds.

Will it fit a monitor arm?

Yes. Release the included stand and you get a 100 x 100 mm VESA pattern. The panel weighs about 7 lb, comfortably inside the range of any standard desk arm.

Is 100Hz worth it if I do not game?

The benefit is real but subtle: pointer movement, scrolling and window animations look smoother than 60Hz. Competitive gaming would be better served by a 144Hz or faster panel.

Can it charge a laptop over USB-C?

No. The S2425HS has two HDMI inputs and no USB-C or USB hub, so a laptop needs its own charger plus an HDMI cable or adapter.
