Mario Tennis Fever is the ninth Mario Tennis game and the first built for Nintendo Switch 2. The hook is the Fever Racket: pick one of more than thirty and it changes what your Fever Shot does when the gauge fills during a rally, from court-warping serves to shots that leave the other player scrambling.

Thirty-eight characters are playable and up to four can share one console for doubles, which is what makes this a sensible second game to keep next to the machine.

No. Mario Tennis Fever is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, so the card will not run on a Switch, Switch Lite or Switch OLED.

How many controllers do I need for doubles?

One per player, so four for a full doubles match. A single Joy-Con 2 held sideways counts as one controller, which means the pair that ships with the console already covers two players.

Do I need a paid membership?

Only for online matches and ranked play. Single player, local four-player and local wireless between consoles all work without a Nintendo Switch Online membership.

What actually is a Fever Racket?

Each racket carries its own Fever Shot. Rallying fills the Fever Gauge, and spending it plays out that racket's effect, so swapping rackets changes your tactics rather than just your stats.

Is this the physical card or a download code?

This is the physical Nintendo Switch 2 Game Card in a retail case. Installing game data uses about 7.7 GB of console storage.
