The puck snaps to the back of an iPhone and stays put, so the coils keep their alignment even when you lift the phone to read a message. A braided one-metre cable is attached to it permanently, ending in a USB-C plug.

Peak speed is 25W, but only behind a 30W or larger adapter; on a smaller brick it settles at 15W. It is Qi2.2 certified, which means it also charges AirPods cases and other Qi devices at their normal rates, magnets or no magnets.

Questions & answers

Does a power adapter come in the box?

No, only the puck and its attached cable. To reach the full 25W you need a USB-C adapter rated 30W or higher; a 20W brick still works, just at 15W.

Which devices does it charge?

Magnetic alignment covers iPhone 12 through iPhone 17 and iPhone Air. It also charges any iPhone 8 or later and AirPods cases with wireless charging, just without the magnetic snap.

Will it charge an Apple Watch?

No. Apple Watch uses its own charging puck with a different coil arrangement, so it will not draw power from this one.

Does it work through a case?

Through most plastic, silicone and leather cases, yes. Cases with metal plates, thick armour or a card slot behind the phone weaken the magnets and can stop charging altogether.

Can the cable be replaced if it fails?

No, the cable is built into the puck rather than plugged in. Coil it loosely rather than folding it tight at the base, which is where any strain lands.
