Questions & answers

Does my TV have to be 4K?

No. It works on any TV with a free HDMI port and simply outputs at the resolution the set supports, so a 1080p TV gets 1080p.

Can the remote control my TV's power and volume?

Yes. The Alexa Voice Remote Enhanced has dedicated power, volume and mute buttons that control most TVs and soundbars once you run the one-time setup.

Do I need a Prime membership?

No. Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, Max and the rest install from the app store and work with your own accounts. Prime only matters for Prime Video content.

Can I plug in ethernet?

Not directly. Amazon's Ethernet Adapter for Fire TV, sold separately, replaces the power adapter and adds a wired 10/100 port.

How is it different from the regular Fire TV Stick 4K?

The Max has a faster processor, 16 GB of storage instead of 8 GB, and Wi-Fi 6E rather than Wi-Fi 6. Picture quality and app support are otherwise the same.
